*What is the "vàca in del triföi" menu? Literally, the cow in the clover.
It is an expression (depending on the tone it could slip into an insult) of my paternal grandmother referring to those who, in family gatherings, swallowed disproportionate quantities of food.
I imagine that cows are greedy for clover and that, when they have the opportunity, they eat tons of it (cit. Andrea Camilleri) but I have no scientific proof on this matter, I trust my grandmother.
The rural version of the sadly known olliuchenit.
I then thought that it might be nice to offer some typical dishes, from our peninsula and beyond, in a vàca in del triföi version.
Eat and drink as much as you want, grandmother isn't here anyway.
